When we work with real estate developers, we prefer to start with the acquisition of the land. By becoming involved at the beginning of the process, we can help our client make sure all proper zoning work is completed. We will also review the title history of the land in question to ensure that the land is free and clear of problems such as old tax liens, mechanics liens or other problems in the chain of title.
We can also help with commercial financing, which may begin even before specific land is identified for acquisition and development.
We continue our legal assistance by working with the project engineers as they develop the specifications for the project. We review plans to make sure they comply with all applicable laws regarding roads, lot size, public safety and environmental concerns.
We also help developers and engineers prepare persuasive presentations to local zoning boards and planning commissions to obtain municipal approval and smooth the permitting process.
